CarTel Communications is a dynamic, well established company at the forefront of mobile communications technology. Established in 1983 CarTel has grown rapidly to become one of the Midlands leading suppliers of two-way radio, mobile data, trunked radio systems, and fleet vehicle tracking providers.

How does it work?

Mobile Eye’s system is made up of 4 modules. Firstly the tracking units (1) installed in the vehicle connect and transmit their tracking information through their associated wireless network (2) typically being SMS or GPRS. This information is delivered to the Mobile Eye servers (3) which store the tracking information.

MS Track Pro® (4) the fleet management program in turn connects to the Mobile Eye servers via a standard Internet connection to collect and download any tracking information sent in by your tracking unit.

All historical information, when delivered to you by the Mobile Eye servers, is stored locally on your computer. This means that even if you are off line you will still be able to view tracking history and draw reports from MS Track Pro®. If you are permanently connected to the Internet via broadband or leased line you will be able to remain permanently logged onto the Mobile Eye servers and receive real-time updated tracking information.

Once the Mobile Eye servers have delivered the tracking information to MS Track Pro® the data on the servers is archived and can be accessed and resent to MS Track Pro® if their is an unexpected loss of data or failure on the computer which hosts MS Track Pro®.
